To the Library and Beyond
Shall we find our address books and pick up our pens?  The week of January 14-20 is Universal Letter Writing Week for all those friends we haven’t heard from recently.
On Monday, January 15 we remember Martin Luther King, Jr., and celebrate “his vision of neighbors working together to build a better future.”  Tuesday, January 16 is National Religious Freedom Day reminding us to be grateful for the freedom to practice the religion of our choice.  Thursday, January 18 is Thesaurus Day; the perfect reason to check our thesaurus to enliven those letters to our friends.
You may not know that at the Library we have had visitors of all ages who have used Library resources to learn and teach literary skills to improve their lives.  Even the picture books provide an attractive reward for people who cannot otherwise find adequate literature.
The volunteers who manage Prairie Community Library endeavor to maintain a basic and transparent operation.  We value commitment to our mission, to continue developing the Library as a sustainable service to residents of the surrounding area; this includes adapting to community needs as they arise.  We value commitment to purpose by aligning products and services with our mission.  We invite our patrons to recommend improvements to the organization’s direction, priorities and customer service when we reopen.
Please continue returning any items you may have checked out from the Library to the drop box at the back, north end of the Community Hall building.  Thank you!
