To the Library and Beyond
January 24 is the fourth Wednesday of the month and has been declared “Library Selfie Day.”  Regrettably, Prairie Community Library does not currently LOOK like a library and we encourage you to find any library to take your selfie.  Perhaps you have a library at home, or maybe you have a friend who does.
The United Nations General Assembly has selected January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day because it is the anniversary of the deliverance of Auschwitz-Birkenau where some 7,000 victims were still held captive on that day in 1945 (from the United States Holocaust Museum Website).
On January 27 the literature lovers in Canada will be celebrating Family Literacy Day, and no one will mind if you celebrate Literacy in your family as well.
How about a couple of statistics from our favorite Library?  In 2021 Prairie Community Library loaned 2,479 items, and in 2020 Prairie Community Library added 518 Items to the Library collection.
The volunteers who manage Prairie Community Library endeavor to maintain a basic and transparent operation.  We value commitment to our mission, which we could not do without internal communication, exchange of information.  We value commitment to purpose by aligning products and services with our mission.  We invite our patrons to recommend improvements to the organization’s direction, priorities and customer service when we reopen.
Please continue returning any items you may have checked out from the Library to the drop box at the back, north end, of the Community Hall building and encouraging your friends to do the same.  Thank you!
