donate blood
We do not know if it was the zero weather or the full moon, but you did a wonderful job with the Blood Drive last Tuesday. We had 112 come through the door to give and collected 96 usable units!!!! It was so very good to see all of you. We knew we could make our goal with everyone contributing and we are so grateful to each and every one of you. WE were very pleased to see nine donors from NICI and do thank Naomi Laurino for encouraging them to come. They were Kevin Rehder, Naomi Laurino, Terema Carlin, Cat Richards, Brad Lutz, Lawanda Thomason, Lynn Guyer, and Bill and Mona Farmer, There were eight who gave for the first time. They were: Dan Thompson, Terema Carlin, Cat Richards, Andrea Schumacher, Lenore Forsman, Denise Poxleitner, Teresa Bryant and Jillian Mursier. We thank you and hope you each bring another new giver with you next time! A 10 gallon pin was given to Gary Blaz, and Kevin Rehder and Jim Remacle each received one for eight gallons. Geralyn Jentges received one for six gallons and Shelia Long got her five gallon one. Matt Beckman gave enough for his four gallon pin and Bill Farmer received a pin for three gallons. Bob Michaels has given two gallons and Judy Snyder and Sr Chanelle Schuller were honored for one gallon. What a great list! You kept our volunteers busy and we thank Merna Gehring, Elaine Schumacher, Helen Huntley, Calista Karel, Dolores von Bargen, Anna Gehring, Connie Uhlenkott and Audrey Uhlenkott for helping at the collection site. We were also assisted by the HOSA Students who do so much to lift everyone’s spirit as they help the donors back to the table. They were Kyle Daly, Brock Heath and Dani Cochran. Calista Karel is also a high school student who assisted. Along with first time donor, Andrea Schumacher, the high school was very well represented. Ralph Terhaar and sons Curt and Andy as well as Chuck Kreautler helped set up and tear down. Our next drive is April 29 and we know we can expect all of you to come back and give again the one thing that only you can give. And, by the way, Joe Riener again gave his five quarts of soup! Thank you. Sally and Irma. |
