Coppernoll, Uhlenkott win Regional titlesPrairie 2021 Track Schedule
Matt Coppernoll won both the shot put and discus and Ellea Uhlenkott won the 100 hurdles at the Regional Track Meet at Lapwai Friday and Saturday, May 14-15.
Prairie also had Regional champions in the girls 4x100 and 4x200 relays.
Coppernoll won the discus with a mark of 153’2” and the shot put with a personal best mark of 44’6.5”.
Uhlenkott won the 100 hurdles in a personal best time of 16.35. She also placed second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 48.63.
Alli Geis, Uhlenkott, Julia Rehder and Kristin Wemhoff ran both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays. They won the 4x100 in 53.13 and the 4x200 in 1:51.35.
Also qualifying as an individual for the girls was Wemhoff who was second in the 200 in 27.52 and third in the 400 in 1:01.73.
The boys also qualified both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays for state with the same lineup in both relays. Jesse Cronan, Cole Martin, Zach Rambo and T.J. Hibbard were second in the 4x100 in 46.66 and third in the 4x200 in 1:36.54. Although they finished third in the 4x200 they qualified as the fastest time on the bubble.
Individuals also qualifying for state were Hibbard, who was third in the discus at 132’1”, Shane Hanson, who was fifth in the discus at 121’6” and Cronan, who was third in the long jump with a personal best mark of 18’4”.
It looked like Hibbard made it in the 200 but he was disqualified.
Cronan just missed in the discus as he finished 6th at 116’0” and only the top 5 qualify for state.
Another near miss was Rehder who finished 7th in the girls long jump at 13’10.5”. She was also 10th in the triple jump at 25’11.5”, well below her best mark.
Other competitors for the girls team:
Geis finished 10th in the 300 hurdles in 55.55.
Olivia Klapprich was 13th in the long jump at 12’1”, 14th in the 200 in 32.85, and 30th in the 100 in 15.88.
Sarah Lustig was 21st in the 200 in 34.70, 23rd in the discus at 66’6” and 28th in the shot at 22’3.5”.
Meghan Fowler was 25th in the 200 in 37.98, 35th in the discus at 51’11” and 36th in the shot at 18’10”.
The medley relay team of Fowler, Lustig, Klapprich and Geis finished 5th in 2:11.65.
Other competitors for the boys team:
Rambo was 9th in the long jump at 16’11.5” and 14th in the 200 in 25.73.
Sebastian Nuxoll was 9th in the 300 hurdles in 57.54, 19th in the discus at 90’6” and 41st in the 100 in 15.51.
Bennie Elven was 11th in the discus at 102’9” and 33rd in the 200 in 27.93.
Tyler Wemhoff was 14th in the 1600 in 5:29.78 and 14th in the 3200 in 12:17.23.
Lee Forsmann was 15th in the discus at 96’7”, 20th in the long jump at 14’6.5”, 38th in the 100 in 13.96 and 43rd in the 200 in 28.88.
Hanson was also 17th in the high jump at 5’0” and 39th in the 200 at 28.44.
Ambrose Nuxoll was 17th in the 400 in 1:04.0 and 27th in the long jump at 11’7”.
The boys 4x400 relay team of Elven, Ambrose Nuxoll, Sebastian Nuxoll and Wemhoff placed 6th in 4:11.69.
The medley team of Quirt Goeckner, Hanson, Elven and Ambrose Nuxoll was 7th in 4:45.29.
As a team the boys placed 6th with 48 points while the girls placed 5th with 58 points.
