teams win
The Prairie girls track team took second place overall while they had 2 relays win at a 14-school track meet held at Lapwai Tuesday, March 23. The 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams each won their event with Vanessa Sonnen, Tabitha Sonnen, Nicole Nida and Lauren Merrill the members of both squads. The 4x100 team won in 55.63 and the 4x200 in 1:57.33. Prairie’s medley relay team took second place in 2:05.19. In individual events Tabitha Sonnen took second in the 100 hurdles in 18.96 and was third in the 300 hurdles in 56.32. Vanessa Sonnen was third in the high jump at 4’6”. Nicole Nida took second in the 200 meter dash in 28.82 and Lauren Merrill took third in the long jump at 13’8½”. The boys team competed as well but had no top 3 finishers.
