Nida, Sonnen win at Kamiah
Nicole Nida and Tabitha Sonnen each picked up a first place medal at the Clearwater River Invitational Track Meet held at Kamiah Saturday, April 10.
Nida and Vanessa Sonnen finished 1-2 in the 100 meter dash with both being timed in 13.5. Tabitha won the 300 hurdles in 53.0 while rallying to win after stumbling at the second hurdle. She was also second in the 100 hurdles in a season best time of 17.5.
Vanessa Sonnen competed in the triple jump for the first time ever and placed third at 30’7½”.
Briget Long tied for fifth in the pole vault with a leap of 6’0”.
The Prairie girls also placed in all 4 relays. They took second in both the medley in 2:02.1 and 4x400 in 4:49.3 and were third in the 4x100 in 55.6 and 4x200 in 1:56.3.
As a team Prairie finished fourth out of 11 scoring schools behind Pullman, McCall-Donnelly and Grangeville.
The boys team placed 12th out of 13 scoring teams and had no one place in the top 6 in their events.
