Hail damage is extensive
Hail damage this year resulted from 7 storms, starting in June with the most damaging storm occurring about 5 p.m. on Friday, August 6.
That storm caused more damage as fields were nearly ready for harvest in most cases.
Damage ran from 10 to 100% in some of the fields, with nearly every farm having some damage.
The most extensive damage was in the barley fields.
At this time most of the crops have been harvested with some late harvesting yet to be done near Keuterville and in the higher elevations.
Adjusters no longer give a total loss, checking each field and giving the results of the loss for each field.
