Lady Pirates in Jamboree next Monday
The Prairie Lady Pirates basketball team will see their first on-court action at a pre-season Jamboree to be held at Clearwater Valley High School in Kooskia next Monday, Nov. 8.
Prairie will open the competition against Nezperce at 5:30 p.m.
They are then scheduled to face Kamiah at 6:30, C.V. at 7:30 and Lapwai at 8:30.
Teams will play 12 minutes of continuous running time with 1 full time out per session.
Admission charges will be $3 per adult and $2 per student with ASB card.
The girls first regular season game is set for Thursday, Nov. 18 at Kamiah.
C.V. will also host a boys’ Jamboree on Monday, Nov. 22.

Seventh Grade girls finish season
The Prairie Middle School 7th grader girls ended their basketball season last week by finishing 2nd in an invitational tournament held at Clearwater Valley High School in Kooskia. The 7th graders beat Timberline in the first round but lost a hard fought battle to host Clearwater Valley in the championship game.The Prairie Middle School 7th grade girls team.
The Prairie girls started the season with wins over Timberline, Clearwater Valley, and Highland before losing to Kamiah at home. Prairie then recorded wins over Orofino and Culdesac before losing a one point game to Kamiah on the Kubs home floor. The Prairie girls then traveled to play undefeated Grangeville and led most of the game before losing a very tough game. The young Pirates finished the season at 6 wins and 4 losses.
Members of the team were Amber Frei, Casey Jo Bruegeman, Kelly Edwards, Samantha Frei, Kristin Hill, Justina Sigler, Taylor Ratcliff, Notosha Schaeffer, Kylee Vandiest, Gina Seubert, MacKenzie Coleman, Hilaree Vanderpas, Alena Hoene, and Amber Holthaus. The team was coached by Elmer Wessels.
