The big change for Cottonwood this year has been no water rationing with the addition of the well at the airport. Lawns stayed green all summer.
The visitation of the Idaho State Legislators in the fall was one of the high lights during 2004.
January
Becca Massey has New Years Baby Jan. 3, a girl, at St. Mary’s Hosptial.
Denis Duman and coucil men, Jack Duman and Shelli Schumacher are sworn-in to be members of the Cottonwood City Council. They are mayor and two councilmen.
The prairie boys defeat C.V. 75 to 39 and the girls take Potlatch 44 to 37 in Basketball.
Connie Uhlenkott was named the District 5 woman of the Year for the Idaho County Farm Bureau.
Joe Newman serves as City Policeman while Chief Terry Cochran is in the service.

Viola Broadhurst Austin, 83, died Dec. 22, 2003 in California.
Marilyn Elaine Arnzen, 81, died Dec. 10, 2003, died in the kitchen of her home of 42 years.
W.W. “Bill: Longeteig, 61, of Craigmont died Jan. 1 at his home. Bill was a well known lawyer working from his office in Craigmont.
Ann Jenny Seubert, 94, died Jan. 11. She was a lifelong Cottonwood resident. She died while in Boise visiting her daughters for the holidays.
Weddings
Lynn Marie Gehring weds William Wayne Goeckner on July 5 in Holy cross Catholic Church.
Stephanie Lynn Crea married Brandon Michael Riener Aug. 30 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Greencreek.
Beth Ann Terhaar married Adam Christopher Schumacher Nov. 8 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Greencreek.

Ralph and Joan (Greif) Schaeffer to celebrate 50 year together Jan. 3 in a party at the Holiday Inn Airport, Boise.

Sister Marcella Riener, 95, died Jan. 28 at the Monastery of St. Gertrude. She was born April 18, 1908, to Joesph and Mary Hutfles Riener in Greencreek, ID.
Sister Stephanie Wardle, 61, died Jan. 31 at St. Mary’s Hosptial. She was born April 18, 1942 in Ogden, UT.
Pauline Mary Hattrup, 93, died Feb. 6 at Moscow. She was born March 11, 1910 at Cottonwood.
Rita Forsmann, 80, died Feb. 13 at Grangeville. Rita was born Jan. 8, 1924 and attended school in Ferdinand.
Cletus H. Wemhoff, 83, died Feb. 13 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born March 8, 1920.
Lester Woodworth, 75, died in February 2004, at his Ferdinand Home.
Herman Jacob Trautman, 87, died Feb. 17, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born Nov. 22, 1916 at Greencreek.
Orval “Bud” Wensman, 77, died Feb. 20, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born Oct. 28, 1926, at Greencreek.
Sally Geis Schongalla, 49, died Feb. 14. Sally was born March 25, 1954 to Joe and Joan Geis and was the oldest of six children.

Alda V. Ruzicka, 98, died Feb. 24 in Florida. She was born and raised in Grangeville.
Francis “Burly” Jenny, 66, died Feb. 27 in Moses Lake, Wash. Francis was born Oct. 9, 1937 in Cottonwood.
Leonard G. Schaeffer, 81, died March 2 at his home in Boise. Leonard gratuaded from Cottonwood high School in 1939.
Albert L. Boxleitner, 82 died March 15 in Missoula, Mont. He was born in Keuterville Dec. 19, 1921 to Josephine and Loui Boxleitner.
April
Kari Schumacher and Matt Baerlocher named Co- Valedictorians for the class of 2004 and Maureen Tacke named Salutorian.
The Easter Egg Hunt April 10 was a mad scramble for eggs in City Park.
Maureen Tacke and Randall Wright were “Students of the Month” for March at the high school. 
Kari Schumacher and Sylvia Bennett are “Students of the Month” for April at the High School.

Glenn Hasenorhrl, 78, died March 28 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He married Marie Schmidt of Greencreek Feb. 10, 1949.
David D. Dunham, 57, died March 24. He was born April 25, 1946 at Cottonwood and Married Betty Riener July 2, 1966.
Edwin Lloyd Johnson, 73, died March 9 at Kenmore, Wash. 
Frank R. Higgins, 90, died April 11 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1913 on the family ranch along Red Rock Creek near Winona.
Jeannette Katheen Wessels, 77, died April 16. She was born April 26, 1926 to Henry and Mae Mader Beckman.
Sr. Teresa Margaret Terhaar, 95, died April 12. She joined the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1934.
Aaron Roy Jungert, 41, died April 20. He married Tonya Cochran in 1986.

Alice Rae Schmidt, 65, died April 27 at her home in Greencreek.
Terrance J. Lauby, 65, died April 28. He was the son of Logan J. Lauby and Stacy R. Montambo of Orofino.
Theodore (Ted) Mundt, 75, died May 6 at his home in Grangeville. Ted was born April 26, 1929 at Cottonwood.
Hillard and Polly Veddar Price were honored with a memorial Mass May 28 at Assumption Catholic Church in Ferdinand. He died Dec. 31, 1996 and Pauline died Jan. 12, 2004.
Ellamae Fischer, 88, died May 18 at his home of her son, Bradly Fischer in Lewiston.
