Building code is adopted
The International Building Code was adopted by the Cottonwood City Council at their February meeting held Monday, Feb. 14.
The full text of the building code ordinance adopted by the council is elsewhere in this week’s Chronicle. A public hearing was held prior to the regular council meeting to discuss the IBC.
Also approved by the council was a conditional use permit for Gina Lustig which will allow a day care to be run at the former Summit Academy building.
Streets commissioner Jack Duman reported he’d received an offer for the old road grader of $12,500. This offer was accepted by motion of the council.
Duman also reported that he has been working with the engineers to line up this summer’s paving projects.
In the sewer report Max Nuxoll reported they are still having some inflow problems into the sewer system.
There was no water report as water commissioner Martin Fowler wasn’t able to attend.
The council made official the re-appointment of Rod Behler as fire chief. The fire department members had previously voted to keep Behler as their chief but it isn’t official until the council makes the appointment.
The council received a letter from the Cottonwood Riding Club which recapped the improvements the club has made in the past year to the arena. Due to those improvements the council voted to waive the rent again this year.
The council adjourned to a short executive session at about 9 p.m.
The next regular meeting of the council is set for Monday, March 14 at 8 p.m.
