| Junior-Senior
banquet held
On March 16, the Prairie High School junior class organized a Chinese dinner for the senior class of 2005. The purpose of this dinner is for all of the students of these two classes to celebrate the years that they have spent together, as well as, for the juniors to wish the seniors a safe farewell and luck in their futures. The room was decorated with Chinese symbols that represent beauty, love, and eternity. At the centers of the tables were centerpieces made by Christopher Schumacher and the Prairie High School shop class. They turned out wonderfully, and added to the décor of the room. Accents of gold, red, and black enhanced the Chinese dinner. The evening started with a welcoming speech from junior class president, Heather Schierman. Adeline Lustig joined the group in a blessing before the meal. The meal, which was served by the junior parents and organized by Colleen Sonnen, was of the finest consisting of teriyaki chicken, rice, steamed vegetables, and egg rolls. The classes and advisors were treated like royalty, as their meal was brought to them (with the option of seconds, of course!). Some of the students were even daring and attempted to use the chopsticks! Dessert followed—cheesecake with chocolate dipped fortune cookies and cherries. At the conclusion of dinner, the junior officers played a DVD, put together by Clark Tacke. The DVD took the seniors back in time, as childhood pictures from class photos group photos were displayed on the screen. The seniors each received a copy of the DVD to take home with them. They also received a book compiled of their baby stories submitted by their parents. |
