Tabitha Sonnen wins 3 events
Tabitha Sonnen won 3 events to lead the Prairie girls track team to a team win at a 6-school track meet at Kamiah Tuesday, April 5.
Prairie totaled 157 points to beat runner-up Kamiah by 47. Summit Academy’s team was 6th with 19 points.Nicole Nida wins the 200 ahead of Summit's Cori Wemhoff, right, with Gina Holthaus in the background.
The boys team placed third with a total of 68 points while Summit was fifth with 48 points.
Sonnen won the 100 hurdles in 17.29, the 300 hurdles in 53.6 and, for the first time in that event, the 1600 in 7:19.0.
Another multiple winner was Nicole Nida who took first in both the 100 and 200. She won the 100 in 13.45 and the 200 in 28.13.
Also picking up event wins were Lauren Merrill in the pole vault at 6’7”, Bridget Enneking in the 800 at 3:00.0 and Vanessa Sonnen in the triple jump at 29’10”.
Also placing first was the 4x100 relay team of Gina Holthaus, Vanessa Sonnen, Merrill and Nida in 53.98.
Other top 3 finishers for Prairie were Holthaus, 2nd in the long jump at 14’0”; Vanessa Sonnen, 2nd in the 100 at 13.60; and Kayla Uhlenkott, 2nd in the triple jump at 28’1” and third in the 400 at 1:15.87. 
The 4x200 relay team was 2nd in 1:57.78 and the medley team was 2nd in 2:08.73.
The only Summit girl with any top 3 finishes was Cori Wemhoff, 3rd in the long jump at 13’8” and 3rd in the 100 at 13.73.
For the Prairie boys Jake Holthaus was the lone event winner with a 1st in the 800 at 2:30.2. He was also second in the long jump at 16’3½”. 
Dylan Greene picked up Summit’s long first place finish by winning the long jump at 18’3½”. He was also second in the high jump at 5’6”, second in the 400 at 56.56 and 3rd in the 200 at 25.45.
Other top 3 finishers for Prairie were Kyle Groom, 3rd in the 800 at 2:33.16; J.D. Riener, 2nd in the discus at 121’10 and 3rd in the shot put at 39’4”; Carson Heath, 2nd in the 1600 at 6:31.52; Keith Schultz, 3rd in the discus at 115’10” and the 4x400 relay team which was second in 4:40.25.
Shane Wemhoff was the other top 3 finisher for Summit with a 3rd in the 100 at 12.16 and second in the triple jump at 37’½”.

Girls have 3 second place finishes
The Prairie girls track team had 3 second place finishers at the 12-school Clearwater River Invitational Track Meet Saturday, April 9 at Kamiah.
Nicole Nida had a 2nd in the 200 at 27.6 and was also fourth in the 100 at 14.0.
Prairie also had 2 relay teams take second. The medley relay team took second in 2:04.9 and the 4x100 team took second in 54.9.
As a team Prairie placed 5th.
Other top 4 finishers were: Tabitha Sonnen, 3rd in the 100 hurdles in 17.4; Vanessa Sonnen, 3rd in the triple jump at 30’6”; and the 4x200 relay team which was third in 1:54.6.
Neither the Prairie boys team nor Summit Academy girls team had any top 4 finishers at the meet.
