Girls beat Lewis County 6-3
The Prairie Lady Pirates stayed unbeaten in league action with a 6-3 win over Lewis County at Nezperce Friday, April 15.Alli Holthaus takes a cut during the girls game at Lewis County.
Meghan VanderPas picked up another win but saw her string of hitless innings end at 16 when Lewis County’s Cassie Dunn picked up a single in the fourth inning.
Prairie scored in each of the first 4 inning as they built their lead to 6-1 at one point.
In the bottom of the sixth Dunn got another single with runners on as the Eagles scored 2 to cut the lead to 3 but VanderPas got out of the inning and set the Eagles down in order in the seventh to end the game.
Prairie got 8 hits in the game as they scored single runs in the first, second, fourth and sixth innings and scored a pair of runs in the third.
Natalie Arnzen had 2 hits while Tiffany Schaeffer, VanderPas, Kylie Uhlorn, Alli Holthaus, Carolyn Sonnen and Brooke Holthaus each had 1 hit.
VanderPas recorded 15 strikeouts in the game and allowed 4 walks in addition to the 2 singles.
With the win Prairie improves to 4-0 in league action and 5-5 overall.
