to sponsor June Picnic Fun Run
St. Mary’s Hospital and Clinics will be sponsoring a family fitness fun run and walk at the Craigmont June picnic on Saturday, June 25. The 5k; 3.1 mile and one mile walk and fun runs have an 8:00 a.m. start time from Highland High School. Registration will be held from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m. or advance registration is available by calling SMHC Home Health or writing: June Picnic Fun Run, SMHC, 701 Lewiston St., Cottonwood, ID 83522. Registration forms are available at local businesses in Craigmont and the registration desk at SMHC. The distance routes are a loop beginning at the high school proceeding to Highway 62 then following gravel roads past the airport and concluding at the high school. The one mile walk will follow a paved route and be more suitable for strollers than the distance loops. “Our goal is to have fun, but encourage fitness,” said Shawn Severson, Fun Run Coordinator and Director of SMHC Home Health. “Including some form of exercise in your daily life is important to maintaining good health throughout a life time. We’re hoping that families and friends will run or walk together to set an example to the young people in our community about the importance of combining fun and fitness. It’s a great way to start the June Picnic festivities scheduled on Saturday.” The registration fee of $12 includes a 2005 short sleeved T-shirt or $5.00 without a T-shirt.
