Elections are next Tuesday
Elections for City Councilmen in both Ferdinand and Cottonwood are set for next Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Cottonwood has only one name on the ballot, Max B. Nuxoll, who is seeking re-election to a four-year term.
Filing at last Tuesday’s deadline for write-in positions are Shelli Schumacher for the 2-year term. This is the position she had been appointed to when there weren’t enough candidates to fill the open positions at the last election.
Also filing is William L. “Bill” Hill, owner of Idaho Stove. He is seeking the other 4-year position.
To have your vote count for the write-in candidates you must write in their name for the appropriate position and check the box next to their name. They are the only two to file as write-in candidates. Any other names written in will not be counted.
Cottonwood mayor Denis Duman also writes about the election in his “Notes from City Hall” column elsewhere in this week’s Chronicle.
In Ferdinand Ronald Riener and Lori Schmidt are on the ballot for the two open 4-year positions. No write-ins filed.
Remember to vote Tuesday in your city’s elections.
