101 donate blood
Even the Red Cross nurses applauded as our 101st donor came through the door last Thursday. We have not had that many come to our blood drives for over a year. And it certainly made all of us very happy.
We had many gallon pins to award. Joe Didier has given 72 times for a 9 gallon pin. Betty Mader, Joe Forsmann and Mark Tacke received recognition for giving 5 gallons. Delmer Goeckner, Curt Terhaar and Mike Nau have given 3 gallons and Heather Lightfield, Ray Nuxoll and Bill Farmer reached the 2 gallon mark. What a great effort by all of you.
We are always happy to see some high school students and hope that many more will come to the next ones throughout the year. Our first timers are Jeri Hattrup, Scott Woods, Dani Terhaarr, Shari Dagliesh, Dustin Blankenship, Margo Riener and Judy Snyder. We depend on our first timers and hope they keep on coming. So think of coming next time. It is good for the soul.
Many thanks to the volunteers who make it happen. They are Mary Jennings, Elaine Schumacher, Eleanore Hinkelman, Merna Gehring. Doris Sonnen, Helen Huntley, Margaret Stewart, Jane Hoene, Dolores von Bargen, and Anna Gehring. The set up, tear down crew were Ralph Sprute and Ralph and Curt Terhaar.
The next drive is January 17 and we just know that many more of you will take time to come and make our blood supply ample for our needs.
