Notes from Pat
Looks like Christmas as snow covers the ground and with the chill temperatures maybe with us for sometime.
Lights on the houses and in the yards look very festive.  If you want to share the season’s joy you can select a name for the Tree of Sharing at the hospital or give to the food bank.  Hunger lasts all year long.
A new group has been meeting at the hospital conference room to share ideas and knowledge with the purpose of preventing suicides in our area.
People from the Cottonwood, Keuterville, Greencreek and Ferdinand area are meeting together with some professionals to exchange stories in the hope of stopping future suicides.
This is an informal group with the next meeting on Jan. 9 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the hospital conference room which is on the lower floor at the back of the hospital.  Come share, all ages.
School Christmas concerts continue with the high school concert Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the gym.
The Elementary School concert is next Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 1:30 p.m. in the school gym.  This is always an well-attended concert.  The children and the music teacher always have a little fun with the songs.
Don’t forget the coloring contest entries are due in Friday, Dec. 16.  Ages are under 6, 6-8 and 9-12.
Also coming Sunday evening, Dec. 18 is the Christmas parade and friendship supper in Cottonwood.  Parade at 5 p.m. with supper to follow in the Community Hall.  The supper is a fundraiser for the high school boy’s basketball team and the girls dance team and the cheerleaders.
May you share in the Blessings of the season.
Pat
