Pirates in Action keeping busy
Local high school students have come together to take an active roll in our community. Together, the Pirates in Action group are coming up with ideas to make an impact in our area. Advisor, Lydia Deiss, and president, Dani Terhaar, work together with the group to make the group’s visions come to life.
Recently, we held a Hat-and-Mitten Hayride to gather extra outdoor gear for the needy in our area. We collected a large contribution, delivered to our St. Mary’s Hospital charity. Pirates in Action have decorated the Cottonwood Lions’ Park this Christmas to spread the holiday cheer. Also, in support of the hurricane Katrina victims, Pirates in Action raised a relief fund between all three Prairie schools.
We look forward to more involvement this year and encourage involvement from the community. Look in the Cottonwood Chronicle for updates on upcoming events.
