USA Volleyball team competes at St. Maries
This past Sunday the Camas Prairie Volley Ball team ventured to St. Marries.  It was evident in the players that the early morning drive - leaving the Prairie early in the morning took its toll on the players.  The action began at 7:15 am, with team sign ups and verification of rosters.  The girls were on the court and playing before 8:00 am.
The Camas Prairie team's first match was against Moscow, with a tough loss of 11-25, the next game was tied a couple of times at 11-11, and again at 15-15, but Camas Prairie came up short in a 16-25 loss.
The Next Match was against NIVBC with a much closer game, of 17-25, the second set once again found Camas Prairie Tied on several occasions, but seemed to be unable to bring in the last points, and the set match ended with a score of 18-25.
The Third Match was against the hosting team of St. Marries.  Camas Prairie had beat them on a previous occasion, but was unable to defeat them this time.
The fourth match was against VIP Juniors, where Camas Prairie seemed to be finally waking up, taking the lead early on with a score of 3-1, but with a time out being called, the girls seemed to lose the momentum and finished with losses of 8-25 and 9-25.
The fifth match brought them up against Team Varnish from Genesee, and was the closest game the girls were able to muster.  Being ahead at several moments, but unable to hold on to the lead during the final 5 points, ending the score at 21-25 and 15-25.
Following the round robin for placement in the tournament.  Camas Prairie once against faced off with Moscow, and once again seemed to be unable to overcome the lack of sleep, and ended the playing action for the day.
The team stayed for one more game, to serve as referees, line judges, scorekeepers, and stats.
The girls will face another day of action in Spokane on March 12th, and in Pullman come April.
The Team is made up of girls from Nezperce, Grangeville, and Cottonwood, and is coached by Sarah Remacle and Mary Duuck.
