8 boys attend retreat
By Emily Rehder
This past weekend, March 3-5, eight Summit Academy boys attended a retreat in Yamhill, Oregon.  They left Friday morning for the long road trip and arrived that evening.
The theme of the retreat was “How to Pray”.  All of the boys were able to attend Mass each day at St. John’s Yamhill church and receive the sacrament of Penance at any time.  They also played sports and games here as well.
Two wonderful priests, Fr. Jeffery Jambone and Fr. Jason, lead this retreat, giving talks and spiritual guidance to all of the boys.  A variety of awards were given at the end of their trip for portraying different virtues.
The boys from here receiving awards were Chase Nuxoll who received the “Sportsmanship” award and Dustin Lustig who received the “Charity” award.  They all had a wonderful time and grew much more deeply in their love for Christ during this Lenten season.
