youth active in June
The Tri-Parish Youth have a lot of activities coming up in June. The Car Wash that was scheduled on June 9th sponsored by the 7th grade class has been rescheduled for June 16th from 10:00-4:00. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward sponsoring a youth from the Philippines through the CFCA program. On June 10th and 17th several of the youth will be serving at Riener/Harman and Arnzen/Rankin weddings to raise money for the Africa Mission Trip in 2008. On June 16th and 26th the Peer Ministry Team will meet at 6:30 for mass and will followed with formation and team building at the Jr. High Peace Building. On June 14th we will have our 2nd Relay for Life meeting at the Junior High Peace Building at 7:00 p.m. Please bring your registration, permission slip and $2.00. For our social this month, on June 19th we will meet at the Coffee Mill from 4:00-5:00 p.m., go to the Jr. High Peace Building for a Hot Dog Roast and finish with Mass at 6:30. June 21st we will be preparing for a yard sale from 10:00-4:00. June 23-24 the youth will be hosting a yard sale; location TBA. June 25th the youth will be helping at a coffee hour at the 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Mary's. This gesture is to help Brenna Riggers, a member of our youth group to raise money for her trip to Africa. Brenna will be volunteering at the Bethany House in Africa this Fall. We are encouraging the community to support her in these efforts as she strives to live out her call of discipleship in the larger world! Finally, on June 28th we are asking all those youth and adults who are interested in joining us on our mission trip to visit Africa in 2008 to attend an informational meeting at the Jr. High Peace Building at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy the warmth of the summer sun and remember to embrace the beauty that surrounds you DAILY!!! Vacation Bible School set for June 19-23 Vacation Bible School's theme for this year at St. Mary's Church in Cottonwood from 9 a.m. until noon on June 19-23 is Circus of the Stars-Spotlight on God the Father. Children kindergarten through fourth grade come learn about the virtue of Balance through Bible stories of Jesus, skits, crafts, song and prayer to teach us to reflect God's glory and become His STARS when we Work, Play, Rest, and Pray each day. On Friday, June 23, children invite their families, neighbors, and friends to join them in the celebration of Mass at 11 a.m. followed by a K4J Carnival with games and activities that show and teach what children have learned during their week at VBS. So come join in the fun and even bring a friend!!! To register your child(ren), please call Cindy Wilson at 962-7725.
