July is Exploding with Tri-Parish Youth Activities
Hello and happy hot July!  As summer springs into action, so do the summer activities.  It’s during these picnic, barbecuing, and sun tanning days that we soak in the warmth of the season and enjoy family, friends, and hopefully a little leisure.  Don’t be afraid to spend time enjoying and thanking God for the beautiful days as creation’s bounty reveals a Creator of love and grace in our very midst.
The youth will also be springing into action in July as they prepare to once again help fight cancer through walking in the Relay for Life.  They will be walking in memory of their beloved classmate and friends, Jacob Riener, as Jake’s team.  Their first plan of action will be to raise money through taking individual pledges in luminary sales.  Each luminary is $10 and can either be in honor or memory of someone who has been affected by cancer.  The goal for the individual pledge is at least $100 per youth.  Secondly, the youth are sponsoring a haystack feed on July 6 at the KC Hall from 5-8 p.m.  This event is chaired by Stacey, Amanda, and Ashley Jackson.  The money will go toward a group goal of $1,500.  The youth will participate in the Relay for Life event at Grangeville on July 21-22.  During this time they will be walking all night long as a sign of support for the people who have either survived or died from cancer.  Luminary making will take place on July 12 at 7 p.m. at the Junior High Peace Building.  If you are a high school youth and you would like to walk, you can still get a registration packet and walk with us.  We would love for you to join us!!!  (All youth need to bring their registration forms, permission slips, sports items for the auction, and $2 to the July 12 meeting at the Junior High Peace Building).  We thank you in advance for your support, and if you have any questions, please call Lauretta Poxleitner or Debbie Chicane.
Other events for the month of July include a High School Girls Sleep-Over at the Jr. High Peace Building on July 1.  We will begin with Mass at Ferdinand at 5 p.m.  On July 7 we will meet at the JHPB for a movie, followed by Adoration.  On July 10 the peer ministry will meet at the Hang Out for dinner; this will be followed by Mass at 6:30.  On July 24 the peer ministers will meet for Mass at 6:30, followed by group formation at the JHPB.  High School Renew meeting on July 17 at the JHPB at 7 p.m.  Bible Study on July 26.  The peer ministers and youth going to Africa will be hosting a car wash on July 28 at the Fire Station at 10 a.m.  On July 30 the Limex Program will be hosting a Mass and celebration for the graduates at 7 p.m.  This celebration will be taking place at St. James in Lewiston with Fr. Schumacher as the celebrant.  All friends and families of the graduates are invited to attend.  I would love to see you there!
Thank you to everyone for your continued support, encouragement, and prayers as this youth ministry process continues.  Our youth are truly a gift placed within our community, and it is up to all of us to help them discover who they are as members of the church as children of God.  I appreciate your help as we venture forward in building God’s Kingdom on earth.  May God bless you all abundantly!!!
