students win essay contest
Three Prairie Middle School students took District 5 honors in the Idaho Farm Bureau Essay Contest, which locally was held in May. Kody Duclos was first place winner, Levi Lustig was second, and Marcus Higgins placed third. Their essays, which followed the theme of "Looking to the Future of Idaho Agriculture" were sent to District level for judging. District 5 is all the counties from the Canadian border down to Riggins. Congratulations, boys, you represented our county well. The District first place winner automatically competes at the state level. So Kody's essay was sent on and he placed second in the state. Congratulations, Kody! Kody's parents are Mike and Tara Duclos, Ferdinand. Levi is the son of Doug and Karen Lustig, Cottonwood, and Marcus belongs to Brad & Cindy Higgins, Greencreek. Mrs. Jessica Vanderwall was their fifth grade teacher. |
