hospital board welcomes two members
Two new members have joined the Board of Trustees for Clearwater Valley and St. Mary’s Hospitals. Sr. Barbara Jean Glodowski, OSB and Dan Davis began serving their three year terms at the September meeting.
Sr. Barbara will fill the seat on the board designated for a representative from St. Gertrude’s Monastery in Cottonwood. That seat is being vacated by Sr. Meg Sass who is working for the Diocese of Boise. The Benedictine sisters initiated the first hospital in the Cottonwood area. Sr. Barbara serves as the Director of the newly built Spirit Center on the Monastery grounds.
Dan Davis served on the SMH board beginning in 1991. He continued to serve on the joint CVHC/SMHC board after 1998 when the two hospitals partnered. When his terms expired he was invited to join the Benedictine Health System board based in Duluth, Minnesota. He will continue to simultaneously serve on the BHS board. Davis is a wildlife biologist with the US Forest Service, Clearwater National Forest. He replaces Lee Pippenger whose term expired this summer.
Together the two hospitals administer seven satellite medical clinics, four physical therapy clinics and two home health programs. They employ close to 500 people with a payroll of over $ 12 million.
Other members of the board include Larry Coonts, Orofino; Sr. Mary Rochefort, Duluth; Marge Kuchnyka, Weippe; Dr. Maurice Masar, Orofino; Bryan Higgins, Kamiah; Gary Rehder, Cottonwood; Marguerite McLaughlin, Orofino and Gordon Harman, Cottonwood. The board meets six times a year.
