(Continued from last week) Students of the Month for May were Nicole Lettenmaier and Kimberlee Altman. Adeline Lustig is valedictorian for the class of 2006 and Ashley Schaeffer and Dani Terhaar are salutatorians for the class. The boys and girls basketball and softball teams won District Championship trophies. Forty students took part in graduation ceremonies May 26. The baseball team won state this year with scores of 10-0 with Rimrock and 3-1 with Genessee in the last two games. Deaths: Sarah Elizabeth “Betty” Lange, 84, died May 1 in Newport, Washington. Mildred E. Wimer, 88, died May 5, she was born in Montana and at the age of 4 her family moved to a farm home near Ferdinand. William Carroll Cox, 85, died May 17, at Grangeville. He was a life member of the Elk’s. Geraldine “Jerri” Keller, 80, died May 19, in Grangeville. Special: Martha Nagle to celebrate her 100th birthday May 14 in Wilsonville, Oregon. Students of the year at Prairie High School were Adeline Lustig and Bridget Enneking. Ben Uhlenkott will be ordained a Roman Catholic priest for the Diocese of Boise June 8th at the Cathedral of St. John in Boise. Summit Academy graduates 6 students. Jay Hinterlong is appointed to fill the city councilman position of Bill Hill, who resigned. Engagements: Patrick Hill and Corutney Forsmann to wed July 7 at St. Mary’s in Cottonwood. Joseph Damon Ellis and Lisa Marie Rehder to wed July 15. Dave Goekner and Kerry Ruane to wed Aug. 4. Kimberley Rose Riener and Seth Anthony Harman to wed June 10. Aleana Elsie Reichlin and Michael Allen Lockart to wed June 17. Lynette Marie Arnzen and James Paul Ranklin, Jr. to wed June 17. Anna Kathleen Stubbers and Jerald DeBlois, Jr. to wed Sept. 2 in Beaverton, Oregon. Wedding: Owen Joseph Davis married Alison Ruth Forsmann May 21 in Arizona Deaths: Elsie A. Kinzer, 94, died June 16 at Lewiston. Born and raised in Ferdinand she lived on Doumeacq Plains and retired to Craigmont in 1976. She began bowling in the early 1960’s when the alley was built and continued bowling until 93 years of age. Wilfred “Willie” Wessels, 79, died June 20 at Dayton, Washington. Specials: Lee and Darlene von Bargen to celebrate 50 years together. Harold and Carol Schaeffer to celebrate 20th in the Ferdinand Parish Hall, June 24. Fred and Norma Behler to celebrate 50th Saturday June 17th. Ted and Dolores Billups to celebrate 60th June 13. For several months some of the early day photos from the Andy Nuxoll collection have been in issues of the Chronicle. Ed Arnzen is Marshall at the annual 4th of July breakfast at Greencreek. Paul Schmidt, mayor of Ferdinand, receives a check for $150,000 from gov. Jim Risch to remodel the city gym. Engagement: Amy Davis and Chad Fealko to wed July 15. Jodi Kaschmitter and Josh A. Holthaus to wed Sept. 2 at St. Mary’s in Cottonwood. Dennis Rowland and Helen Klapprich to wed Aug. 25th Bridgette Wilson and John Harris to wed Aug. 19th. Births: Owen Jake McIntire born June 26 to Daniel and Leslie McIntire in Cottonwood. Carter David Shears born July 14 to David and Erin Shears. Deaths: Dorothy Cecilia Kelly, 82, died June 26, in Boise. Joseph Leo Wasko, 94, died June 25, at his home in Buhl. Shirley Juanita Duclos, 81, died July 9 at Lewiston. Marie Elizabeth Weber, 72, died July 14, at her home in Caldwell. Special: Tom and Irene Terhaar note 50 years together June 24. Sr. Jean Lalande and Sr. Chanelie Schuler note 50th jubilees July 8 in Monastery Chapel. Bob and Donna Ross host Family reunion July 14-16 at their ranch. James W. Seubert celebrate 80th birthday Aug. 1. Fourteenth Raspberry Festival is Sunday at the Monastery of St. Gertrude to support the museum. Kayla Uhlenkott is named 2007 Border Days Queen. Kayla is a Prairie High School senior. Lenore Hill is selected to serve as Grand Marshall for the 2006 Idaho County Fair. Idaho County Fair Royalty for 2007 are Queen Casandra Schaeffer, 1st princess Jennifer Enneking and 2nd princess Bonnie Reilly. Engagements: Toby J. Uhlenkott and Carmela B. Locatelli to wed Sept. 16. Diane Koening and William Remacle to wed Sept. 23. Wedding: Courtney Forsmann and Patrick Chong Hill married July 7 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood.
