New wrestling mat ordered
Through the efforts of the Prairie Booster Club, the Cottonwood Wrestling Club, the wrestlers and coaches, a new wrestling mat has been ordered.
Fundraising efforts began more than three years ago with the Prairie Booster Club sponsoring a golf tournament to help raise funds. Teams of past and present wrestlers and coaches participated. The Cottonwood Wrestling Club put aside funds from their tournaments held in Cottonwood, from sign-up fees and concession proceeds to help purchase the mat. Wrestlers and coaches donated time and energy to help residents with moving household items and cleaning at the annual Idaho County Fair.
The Prairie High School Wrestling Team, the Prairie Jr. High Wrestling Team and the Cottonwood Wrestling Club will use the mat.
Jennifer Heitman, sec./treas. of the Prairie Wrestling club presents a check for $3,426.23 to wrestling coaches Dan Altman and Steve Lamont.
