Thompson deployed to Iraq
Major DebeeAnn M. Thompson, age 38, has been deployed for her tour of duty to Baghdad, Iraq for 18 months, where she will be attached to the Combat Engineers as a Financial Analyst.DebeeAnn Thompson in her civilian clothes.
She leaves for Iraq on January 25 and a going away party with live music is scheduled for this Saturday, January 20, at Busdastublup.
Major Thompson joined at the age of 17 as a Private in an active duty position with the Nevada National Guard where she has worked her way up to a Major and is now promotable to Lt. Colonel.
Major Thompson was a Company Commander in Reno, Nev. and was transferred to Las Vegas in 2004 to serve as an Executive Officer.
She has received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Law and her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
Throughout her career, Major Thompson has received the Army Commendation medal, the Army Achievement medal as well as the Meritorious Service medal.
Transferring to the Army Reserves out of Boise in 2005, she and husband Randy moved to Cottonwood and opened their business “The Busdastublup Saloon & Grub.” They have since opened their second business “Thompson Pawn” also in Cottonwood.
Living in Cottonwood with her and husband Randy are her mother, Rose, their daughter Halsey, grandson Noah, and Harley, the Chihuahua dog.
