Cottonwood City Council meets
The Cottonwood City Council’s February meeting last Monday, Feb. 12, was a very short one.
The Council passed a motion to waive the hall rental fee for the Cottonwood Credit Union’s Relay for Life fundraiser. The planned fundraiser is for 4 nights of Western Swing dance lessons.
In the sewer report, Jim Steinke reported that the annual discharge report has been completed. JUB Engineering will be working on the NPDES permit.
Steinke also reported the bugs from the agriforest have been sent to Potlatch Forest Industries and then on to WSU for analysis. They will look into the problem and find a spray to combat the bugs.
The city crew has also been cleaning and videotaping sewer lines and repairs have been made to the chlorination system.
Jay Hinterlong reported the water system is working well. Estimates have been done for water usage on the utility buildings.
Jack Duman reported the city crew has been filling in potholes and that the grant application for Lewiston Street has been completed.
Shelli Schumacher reported the compressor is out in one of the heat pumps at the hall. She also reported that Scot Schlader of Prairie Youth Sports plans to be at the March meeting.
Hinterlong reported that the IdaLew Economic Development Council’s January meeting dealt with mostly internal business. They will be holding election of officers in July.
The meeting adjourned at 7:21 p.m. The next regular meeting will be Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m.
