Richardson receives award
June 18, 19, and 20th Ryan Hasselstrom, Nancy Uptmor and Jerry Richardson attended a Professional Technical Summer Conference in Lewiston.
The main items of discussion were the new Carl Perkins rules and regulations for Professional Technical Education that affect how they teach and are able to get funded for our programs. Nancy Uptmor co-presented a seminar on Career Development with Tate Smith during the convention.
At the convention Jerry Richardson received the Sr. High Program of the Year award for '06-'07.  Voting for this is done by the Technology Ed. teachers throughout the state.  Jerry also received this award in '95-'96.
This award could not have been possible without the help of his wife Janet, daughter Alex, past principals, colleagues,  previous students, and donations from a variety of individuals in the form of materials, equipment, time, and money.
Richardson has received several grants over the years allowing him to purchase a CNC machine, a laser, new table saw, computers, a rotary engraver for the laser, and a plotter printer.  This new equipment has helped students become aware of the vast possibilities that are available to them.
This past spring semester George Hager has donated a great deal of time in helping students on the computers with the laser and computer aided drafting.  This has been a big help to Richardson in allowing him to spend more time with students on other projects.
