has new principal
As of August 2007, Summit Academy families, staff, and school board were excited to welcome in a new principal.  With
Mrs. Wemhoff giving up the reins to become a full-time mommy, we not only
welcomed, but rather, welcomed back Mr. Dave Goeckner as the new principal.
He will be putting in full weeks keeping the school heading in the right
direction. Although Mrs. Wemhoff has handed the position on, she
will still be seen at Summit periodically helping with any questions and
working individually with teachers.
Joining Dave back on staff at Summit is his wife, Mrs. Kerry Goeckner, formerly known as Miss Kerry Ruane. She is teaching a variety of subjects and ages. All are happy to see their return, and are looking forward to a great school year! Meet and Greet night held Last Tuesday night, September 11, 2007 the parents and staff of Summit Academy met to talk about the new school year. Gathered in one of the new high school classrooms, Mr. Goeckner began by informing all in attendance about the goals we have for each student and why we have these particular goals. When he finished, he introduced Susan Wassmuth, the preschool teacher. Following her were the rest of the teachers, giving just tidbits of what each is looking forward to and some highlights planned for the year. Parents were then encouraged to browse through classrooms to view the current curriculum and any student projects being displayed. Everyone enjoyed refreshments afterward in the gym. |
