Prairie 6th graders win their bracket at jamboree
Prairie 5th and 6th graders hosted their 11th annual basketball tournament February 8th and 9th.  Seventeen teams participated this year from Deary to Grangeville.  The kids had a great time and learned about the game of basketball at the same time.  In the 5th girls’ division Summit Academy took 1st place over the Lewis Clark Eagles, Prairie and Grangeville.  In the 6th girls’ division Lewiston walked away with a clean sweep for 1st place beating Prairie, Lewis-Clark Eagles, and Grangeville.  Orofino boys took first in the 5th grade boys’ tournament over Prairie, Sts. Peter and Paul, and Summit Academy, while Prairie 6th grade boys walked away with the first place medals over Deary, Orofino, and Lewis-Clark Eagles.
Prairie 5th and 6th graders would like to thank everyone who helped put on this tournament.  Great things like this would not be possible without all of the wonderful volunteer parents, patrons, and Jr. High and High School students.  Proceeds will go towards balls, jerseys, and tournament fees, as well as a large portion to the Discovery Center and to the Middle School Gymnasium for a new score clock and score boards.
