PHS Rodeo team wrapping up season
The Prairie High School Rodeo team will be wrapping up their season at the last rodeo being held at the Asotin Rodeo grounds on May 10th and 11th.  Those participants that tally enough points will move on to state rodeo at Pocatello in June.  President NaTosha Schaeffer competes in Barrel racing, Pole bending, Goat Tying and Cow Cutting.  Vice-President Chance Ratcliff is in Steer wrestling.  Treasurer Hilaree VanderPas does Pole bending, Breakaway and Team roping as well as Cow cutting.  Secretary Taylor Ratcliff enjoys Breakaway roping.
District III Rodeo is highly competitive with participants that span all the way from Fruitland to the Canadian border.  Prairie has been involved in this Varsity sport since 2001 and has produced not only state champions, but also college scholarship recipients. Many local community members and businesses have shown their support through sponsorship and attendance at the events. It's warming up this spring, so grab your hats and come join the fun!
