Arbor Day celebrated
Friday April 25, 2008  Shelli Schumacher of the Cottonwood City council met with the Urban Wassmuth and Kim Schumacher's 4th grade classes for an Arbor Day celebration. Arbor Day celebrated at Prairie Elementary School.
Shelli talked a little bit about Arbor Day and the fact that the City has been fortunate enough to receive Arbor Day grants for several years and have planted trees around town, in the Park, at the Riding arena, Wimer Ball fields and the Middle school and this year the trees were planted at the Elementary school.
Also Teri King from Northwest Management was here to present the City of Cottonwood a plaque for the distinction of Tree City USA. The city also received a Flag and two signs for along the highway.  Teri and Shelli both encouraged the children to take care of the existing trees in town and help plant new trees when ever possible.
After the presentation the children, Shelli, Teri, Ron Grant and both Kim and Urban met in the cafeteria for cookies and punch.
