Quite a 4-year run for the softball team
At the softball awards barbecue the editor was asked if he could find out what the overall record was for the Prairie softball team over the past four years in which they’ve appeared in the state championship game each year.
Prairie has put together an impressive 89-18 record over the past four years for an impressive .832 winning percentage.
That run has included a 39 game winning streak and back-to-back state championships.
Prairie was 17-10 in 2005 with 4 losses to state champion Culdesac and the other 6 losses all to schools in larger classifications.
In 2006 they were 21-4 with 2 of the four losses coming to Culdesac the other two to the Lewiston JV’s and Orofino (despite Meghan VanderPas tossing a no-hitter.)
In 2007 they were 27-2 with the losses coming to Potlatch and Orofino very early in the season and this year they were 24-2 with both losses coming to state runner-up Genesee.
