Scholarship Tournament Held
The Elsie Kinzer Memorial Scholarship Bowling was held at the Prairie Imperial Bowl on May 17 and May 24th.  17 bowlers and 7 speculators participated.  Bowlers bowled 8 games each over the two nights with the high total pins, with handicap, winning the bowling prize.  Rose Gehring won with a score of 1928 total pins.  Bob Canup was 2nd with 1906 pins.  There were 13 games of 200 or better bowled, with Royce Gehring posting the high game of 277, a case of, to little to late.  Debbie Willoughby posted the high ladies game of 231.
The Elsie Kinzer Memorial Scholarship program was created by Neil Ousnamer when he was manager of Prairie Imperial Bowl and Neil came back to run this years bowling.  A Big thanks to Neil for his help.  Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors, one each, from Prairie High School area, Nezperce High School area, and Highland High School area.  This year there were 16 applications for those scholarships from the three areas.  The scholarships have been $200 each, paid at the start of the 2nd semester, to the college or university that are attending.
With the money raised from the speculators and donations that have came in during and since the bowling, including Rose Gehring’s very generous donation of $200, there has been $559 added to the scholarship fund.
Prairie Imperial Bowl and the Elsie Kinzer family wish to THANK the 17 bowlers, the 7 speculators and those that made donations to this fund.
At this time we are looking forward to have the next fund raiser the last weekend of September or the 1st weekend of October.  We would bowl the first 4 games on Saturday evening and the next 4 games on Sunday afternoon.
