Summit to start District play next Tuesday at Nezperce
Summit Academy’s volleyball team will see their first ever District Tournament action starting next Tuesday, Oct. 14 at Nezperce.
The first match will be at 5 p.m. between the #3 seed and the #2 seed with the #4 seed playing #1 Nezperce at 6:30 p.m. The third match of the night will be a loser-out match between the losers of the first two matches.
Summit had a match yet on Tuesday evening against Culdesac that would determine where they wind up in the seedings. Nezperce has clinched the #1 seed but the other 3 spots are still in question.
Action will continue on Thursday, Oct. 16 with the winners of the first two matches from Tuesday playing at 6 p.m. The winner of that match advances to the Regional Tournament. The loser plays the loser out winner from Tuesday for the second seed to Regionals.
The Regional tournament will be at Genesee on Saturday, Oct. 18 starting at noon with the #1 seed from our district facing the #2 seed from District I. At approximately 1:30 the #2 seed from District II will face the #1 seed from District I.
The two losers play at 3 in a loser out game while the winners play at 4:30 with the winner advancing to state.
The championship game loser will face the earlier loser-out game winner for a second chance at state. That winner will play at Grangeville on Saturday, Oct. 25 in a play-in game for a chance to advance to state.
State will be in Burley on Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
