International Trade Workshop planned
The Clearwater Economic Development Association (CEDA, Southeast Washington Economic Development Association (SEWEDA), and the  Northwest Intermountain Manufacturers Association (NIMA) through export trade consultant; Rossi International & Associates are hosting  an afternoon export workshop on Wednesday, December 10, from 1:30  pm to 5:00 pm at The Red Lion Hotel's Port 3 Conference Room in Lewiston.
The workshop is titled; Getting the Export Help You Need to Succeed in a Credit Tight World! This workshop is carefully designed for southeast Washington and north central Idaho manufacturers who may be struggling to grow their business. Manufacturers may be considering a global strategy but do not know where to get help or what the critical pieces are that need to be mastered.  Attendees will learn more about their export options, how to position their company for a bank line of credit and where to find competent assistance in growing their export business.  
The program will start with a discussion about the current status of U.S. exports and why exporting may remain an excellent choice in these difficult times for our area manufacturers.  Local bankers with export lending expertise will be on hand to respond to both presenters and audience.
The primary speaker will be Patrick Rossi, President and CEO of Rossi International & Associates - a North Idaho Export Consultant and former career International Trade Banker.  Pat Rossi has over 25 years experience successfully assisting West Coast manufacturers from Seattle to San Diego and now makes his home and office in North Idaho. This is a 101 level class suitable for a beginner to exporting through to an existing exporter who wishes to sharpen skills and strategies.  Mr. Rossi will be discussing how to present an export credit request with the highest likelihood for approval from your banker.  There will also be a segment discussion on sales techniques in winning orders from the clutches of foreign or other U.S. competitors.  Additionally, Pat Rossi will be discussing a Risk Management technique to protect against a buyer default on open account credit terms.
my Benson, Director of the Boise Export Assistance Center will be the second featured presenter discussing the marketing side of an export business plan. Ms. Benson is an expert at crafting market entry strategies and identifying overseas potential partners for Idaho businesses. The Boise Export Assistance Center works through the world wide offices of the U.S. Commercial Service and its staff of officers focused on export development.

The charge for this workshop is; $99.00 per business with a targeted limit of 20 attendees from the manufacturing sector.
