Christmas tree roundup a success
The Prairie High School Rodeo team had a very successful fundraiser despite the less than expected turnout of people.
Early silent bidding was opened at 4 p.m. due to a boys basketball game that evening.
Shane Arnzen was the auctioneer and donated his time as well as a beautiful picture made by his wife Cheryl.
Ten trees were decorated. Following is a list of donators and themes:
Jeff and Kim Ratcliff (Redneck tree & wreath)
Prairie Elementary School & Staff (Blue bulb)
St. Gertrude’s Monastery (Penguin theme) in honor of the late Sr. Judith Brower
Jackie Poxleitner (silver & purple)
A-1 Flowers & More ( Snowman tree & wreath)
Small Butte Construction (Snowflakes)
J & E Excavation/St. John Hardware (maroon w/candy garland)
Jill Seubert (homemade wrangler)
Jean Brady & Angela VanderPas (western kerchief)
Also auctioned were 3 trees donated by Ernie Jennings to take home and decorate.
Other wreaths donated were:
Craigmont Hardware & Antiques, Meghan VanderPas, Darby Duclos (2), Scott & Michelle Schaeffer (2), Arnzen Drug, Nick & Lacey Uhlenkott, Wells Fargo Bank, Rodeo Kids, US Bank and Brandee Seubert.
Bonnie Keirnan donated a 5 ft. snowman and a wreath.
Denny Walker donated a headstall & reins.
Also on silent auction was a Christmas cake donated by Don & Jeanne Kuther, signs made by Brandee Seubert, a horseshow w/leather picture frame by Jeff Ratcliff and many miscellaneous items by the Rodeo Team.
The team would like to thank everyone for their donations. They raised over $1500 and plan to continue this fundraiser next year.
