Whatsoever Things Are True

Happy New Year!!!
Have you ever made a New Years Resolution? Have you ever kept one?  If so, you are my superior.  Lots of folks talk about what they would like to include, or exclude from their lives in order to make them better.  This is almost always a positive thing, but can you see the “inward focus”?   Is there something God has been wanting you to change?  Something you know about, but have deemed such a small thing that you don’t believe (or don’t want to believe) God is really concerned?   Is there something that you know God would like to weed out of your life, but you have been saying: “Yea, but everyone I roll with does it, and it’s so small compared to my neighbor, surely I’m okie - dokie”.
Let’s turn the Spiritual Switch.   According to the Bible, there are but two kinds of people.   Those “in Christ”, and those “in Adam”.  Those in Christ are the believers who the beatitudes call blessed, or happy.  They are “in-dwelt” by God in the person of the Holy Spirit. They are identified by realizing their spiritual helplessness, showing sorrow over sin, being meek, merciful, and pure in heart. They are peacemakers. Often ridiculed, persecuted or slandered because of their stand for Christ.   Those in Adam are unbelievers. They are “of the world”. Proud and self sufficient. Never recognizing their unrighteousness before God.  They might argue: “I’m just as good as those Churchy people”; and they often are.  Unfortunately, that’s not the test.  “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” - John 3:36.    You see, the wrath of God doesn’t fall on a person after he sins often enough, or severely enough; It “abideth” (remains) on him.  It was already there, cause we are all sinners.  This is why the Gospel is called the Good News.  God provided a way (His Son) to escape this wrath.
Resolution comes from the same root word from which we get resolved.  My prayer for you is that you get this resolved today.  Which group are you in now?  Which one would you like to be in?   God Bless.
