Blood Drive set for May 5
The American Red Cross invites you to celebrate two very special holidays; Mothers Day and Memorial Day by giving a gift from the heart and donating blood during the month of May.  When you donate blood, you give the ultimate gift, the gift of life.
Mother’s Day is a time of commemoration and celebration for Mom; it is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and crayon-scribbled I Love You notes.  Memorial Day was initiated to honor our fallen service persons.  It is also a day to remember and honor all your deceased loved ones.  The Red Cross invites you to celebrate these two special holidays and help make a difference by becoming a blood donor during the month of May.  Your one donation can help save up to three lives, what better way to honor these two special holidays.
Blood products are routinely transfused to those with cancer and other diseases, premature babies, organ transplant recipients, and accident and trauma victims.  Volunteer blood donors are the primary source of blood used for transfusions, and the blood must be there before it is needed in order to save lives.
Any healthy person age 17 or older and weighing at least 110 pounds may be eligible to donate blood.  Valid identification is required for all blood donations.
Help assure that blood is available when people need it.  Call Brenda Kaschmitter at 962-3251 or Cheri Holthaus at 962-2327 to make an appointment to donate blood at our upcoming blood drive; May 5th  from noon to 6:00.
