Board meets
The April meeting of Prairie Community Library Board was held in conjunction with National Library Week. As of April 1st, our library is celebrating 24 years in existence. We think that is quite an accomplishment for an all volunteer library. Many people have put in many hours of work to make this happen. We will be interviewing library patrons and volunteers to get to know them better. Our librarian is Jennifer Cochran, assisted by Mardel Sonnen, Aleta Coppernoll, Rachel Spencer, Candice Williams, Kris Nida, Greg Deiss and Dani Cochran. We appreciate all their hours of time. Officers for 2009 are Donna Wassmuth, President; Laurine Nightingale, Vice President; Pat Gehring, Secretary; Cindy Wilson, Treasurer; Marlene Jungert, Historian. We have some exciting things happening this year to help us celebrate. Summer Reading will be each Thursday in July starting with July 10. With an art theme, the children should have a great time. Be sure to sign up your children so they can take part in this activity. Later this fall we are planning a celebration dinner with a tentative date of Nov. 14, so keep this date reserved for a great time in our German community! Watch for more details later. Next meeting for the Library Board will be May 6th at 6:30pm.
