Schmidt, Uhlenkott each win at Area Best Meet
Kyler Shumway won both the shot put and discus while Devin Schmidt won the triple jump and Kaylee Uhlenkott won the shot put at the Area Best Meet at Lewiston last Thursday, May 1. Shumway won the shot put with a mark of 58’8” and had a personal best of 149’1” to win the discus. Schmidt won the triple jump with a mark of 40’ even. He also took third in the discus at 136’8”. Uhlenkott won the shot put with a season best mark of 37’4”. She took 6th place in the discus at 99’8”. Also set a personal best was Katie Nuxoll who hit 33’0” in the triple jump, good for third place. Brock Heath was second in the 3200 in 10:37.9. The girls 4x100 relay team of Kristin Hill, NaTosha Schaeffer, Nuxoll and MaKayla Schaeffer took 4th place in 53.9. The same group of girls competed in the 4x200 relay and took 6th place in 1:54.44. The girls 4x400 team of Justina Zigler, MaKayla Schaeffer, NaTosha Schaeffer and Nuxoll took 6th place. The boys 4x400 team of Ryan Dalgliesh, Justin Schmidt, Heath, and Devin Schmidt also took 6th place. NaTosha Schaeffer took 5th in the 100 hurdles at 17.45. Dalgliesh was 5th in the boys high jump at 5’4”. The 4x100 boys team of Shumway, Heath, Justin Schmidt and Devin Schmidt took 5th in 47.32.
