National Guard here June 1-14
The 126th Engineer Company of the Idaho National Guard with additional engineering and support elements from the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team will be on the Camas Prairie from June 1 through 14.
They will be conducting training at several sites on the Prairie one of which will be at the Cottonwood Sports Complex to assist in constructing a baseball field. The area where the field will be constructed was leveled by the Guard several years ago but work was interrupted when the unit was called up to Iraq.
The unit will also be conducting construction operations at Camas Gravel Pit near Grangeville and on State of Idaho land near Forest.
They would like to let the public know that civilian traffic may encounter military vehicles traveling on local roads and on rare occasions may encounter small units conducting roadside training on lightly traveled secondary roads in and around Idaho and Lewis Counties.
