Dear Editor:
On September 17th the Prairie School District hosted a appreciation barbecue for the North Idaho Correctional Institution staff, thanking them for the community service provided to the local area.  Thousands of man hours are donated by NICI offenders under the supervision of NICI staff and the direction of the requester.  This has saved an enormous amount of tax payer dollars.
The barbecue was a huge success with numerous local citizens and leaders attending.  Among those present were representatives for the Cottonwood City Council, Idaho County Commissioners, and the volunteer fire department.  We have partnered with each of these areas.
I was very appreciative of everyone that came to represent NICI or to support NICI.  The partnerships we have developed within the community is unmatched by any facility in Idaho, and we thank you.
