Lady Pirates swept twice at tri-match
The Prairie Lady Pirates faced two tough opponents in a home tri-match last Thursday, Sept. 24 and were swept by both of them.
They lost a league match to Troy by scores of 20-25, 25-27, 18-25 then lost a non-league match to Grangeville 22-25, 20-25, 8-25.
The losses drop the Pirates to 2-10 overall, 2-6 against all White Pine League foes and 1-5 against the Division 1 White Pine League teams (the record that determines district seeding).

Lady Pirates at Genesee Tournament
The Prairie volleyball team will be competing at the Pea & Lentil Spike-Off at Genesee this Saturday, Oct. 3.
Their first match will start at 8 a.m. against Grangeville. Kamiah and Nezperce are also in their pool which will be Pool B. They’ll play all pool play matches in the auxiliary gym.
After a 2-match lay-off they’ll face Nezperce and then get another match off before facing Kamiah.
Pool play matches are best 2 of 3 to 25 with the third game to 15 if necessary.
Once pool play is done the first place team in Pool A will play the second in Pool B and vice-versa with the winners of those two matches to play for the championship. There will also be a consolation bracket where the 3rd place team from Pool A will play the 4th place team from Pool B and vice-versa. The winners of those two matches will play for the consolation title.
The champion, runner-up and consolation winning teams will receive plaques. There will also be an all-tournament team named and they will each receive medals.
Genesee, Orofino, Wallace and Timberlake are the teams in Pool A.
