Runnoe is new local BLM field manager
William “Will” Runnoe recently returned to Idaho and reported for duty as the Field Manager for the Bureau of Land Management office in Cottonwood, ID.  Runnoe transferred to Idaho after working for the BLM in Glennallen, Alaska for the past five years.  In Glennallen he held the position of BLM Recreation Branch Chief for the Glennallen Visitors Services followed by over two years as the Glennallen Field Manager.William Runnoe
Runnoe spent 21 years working for the Oklahoma Department of Parks and Recreation, progressing from Park Ranger to Chief Ranger and finally to Administrator of Program Operations before retiring and moving to Idaho in 1996.  While in Idaho he worked as the Henry’s Lake Park Manager for the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation (1996 to 2001); as a Fishery Research Technician for the Idaho Fish and Game (2001-2002); and as the Salmon River Manager for the Salmon-Challis National Forest (2002 to 2004).  He has also served on several boards including fire commissioner for Lemhi County and he has been an active volunteer for many organizations.
According to the BLM Coeur d’Alene District Manager Gary Cooper, “Will brings excellent leadership and supervisory experience as well as extensive experience in the outdoor recreation program.  I believe he is a perfect match for this position in Cottonwood.  Will leads by example, is proactive and believes in building strong partnerships which is exactly what we need here.”
Runnoe attended Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Natural Resources.
According to Runnoe, “I’m very happy to be back in Idaho.  I have a passion for working with people and look forward to being involved in the community and addressing many of the land management issues facing this Field Office”.
Runnoe and his partner Barbara look forward to getting to know folks in the community and enjoying all the outdoor recreational activities available in the area.
Runnoe replaces Stephanie Connolly who is now the BLM District Manager in Casper, WY.
