Lecture series continues
The Historical Museum at St. Gertrude invites you to attend the 10th Annual Fall Lecture Series on Thursday evening, October 8, at 7:00 p.m.  Marjorie Bennett will be recalling some of the stories that have been passed down from the Salmon River country. Windy Stories: Storytelling Traditions From the Salmon River Idaho is a collection of homegrown stories that reflect life along the Salmon River Valley in North Central Idaho at the turn of the 20th century. These are stories that have connections to the White Bird to Riggins area. Delightful and timeless Windy Stories tells the tales through the storytellers’ eyes. This combination of stories and photos conveys a sense of the pioneers and their beloved place.
Marjorie Bennett earned a PhD in folklore with emphasis on Northwest oral narratives from the University of Washington. She is a retired teacher and has served as a school folklorist for the Washington and Idaho State Arts Commissions. Bennett is an accomplished folksinger and storyteller.
