City elections are Tuesday
City Council elections will be held next Tuesday, Nov. 3 in both Cottonwood and Ferdinand.
Cottonwood has 3 people running for 2 positions on the City Council.
They are incumbents Jay Hinterlong and Ron Grant and challenger Shaun Riener.
It is the first contested election in Cottonwood in many years as they usually have to go recruit someone to be on the council when a current councilor steps down.
In Ferdinand incumbents Lori Schmidt and Ron Riener are seeking re-election for their 4-year terms. No write-in challengers have filed in either city.
Polls will be open from noon to 8 p.m. in both cities. In Cottonwood the polling place is the Community Hall. In Ferdinand the polling place is the city clerk’s office in the Ferdinand City Hall at 407 Main St.
