Twelve out for wrestling this season
There are twelve athletes out for wrestling this year on the Prairie High School wrestling team with the bulk of those being freshmen.
Seniors on the team are returning state medallist Brandon Poxleitner who will wrestle at 140 lbs. and Tyrell Langston who will wrestle at 160 lbs. Langston is also a returning state qualifier as is junior Mitch Jungert who will wrestle in the 285 lbs. class.
Sophomores on the team are Nick Creutzberg who wrestled last year for Prairie and newcomer Shawn Seubert, a Summit Academy student. Creutzberg is in the 152 lb. class and Seubert is in the 135 lb. class.
The other 7 wrestlers on the team are all freshmen. They are Tyler Ross at 103 lbs., Alex Duman and Tayler Heitman at 112 lbs., Kade Perrin at 125 lbs., Damian McWilliams are 135 lbs., Josh Wimer at 145 lbs. and Garrett Schmidt at 160 lbs.
The team hosted a tournament last Friday, Dec. 11 at the Middle School gym and are in action this week at Orofino on Tuesday and at Grangeville on Saturday.
