Prigge is Prairie ROCKS! guest
The Prairie Faith Formation students enjoyed hearing Alexa Prigge tell about her summer adventures working on a Dude Ranch in the Colorado Rockies.  The students admired her willingness to not take this summer “dream job” if it meant she could not attend mass.
The students recognized the virtue of courage displayed in her story, especially the courage it took to tell the employer during the interview that she would need time off every weekend to attend mass.  The students also pointed out that she showed trust in God, believing that it would all turn out for the best if she followed his plan.  We discussed the 7 Precepts of the Catholic Church, the first of which is to attend mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
On January 14 we will be taking a break from having a speaker, due the fact that there is no class on Friday.  Friday is the day we take time to process the story the speaker shared the previous day.  This process includes digging into the story a bit deeper to identify the virtues displayed and other points of spirituality and teachings of the Catholic faith.
Please plan to join us on January 21 when Linda (Roy) Arnzen joins us to talk about a specific incident in her life when she felt a very real infusion of the Holy Spirit through reading scripture daily.  On January 28 we will welcome Karla Krogh.  Karla will share the spiritual journey she experienced when her husband, Jeff, was critically injured during a Nascar race.  Class times are 8:20 or 9:20.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
